Girls' Activities (Years 5 to 8)

Heathgrove's Club for girls include extracurricular activities for school-age girls from Year 5 to Year 8. The camp includes outdoor activities, team building exercises, challenges and more. The activities aim to help the girls develop in three main virtues: resilience, optimism and service. The Heathgrove Camp will be "Technology free" which means that no camper is to bring any technology (mobiles, iPod, iPad, etc) to the camp. Parents will be able to contact their daughters for emergencies through the camp director (phone details will be made available closer to the date).

In order to help the girls enjoy and take full advantage of the camp, the girls will be accompanied in their cabins with an older tutor for the duration of the camp. We are applying this guideline as per our company child protection policy:Β

Youth Activities

In order to aid the personal development of the girls, Heathgrove's activities also include informal mentoring by tutors. Tutoring helps the girls to work on personal goals in a relaxed and safe environment.

Club staff members are also available to meet with parents regarding their daughter's participation and progress.

Club activities include fortnightly activities during school term and two holiday camps during the year. Club activities each term include: outdoor/active games, crafts and/or cooking, volunteering and local outings.

At Heathgrove, we try hard to make our activities and camps affordable. Everything is run on a not-for-profit basis. As well as this, Heathgrove itself is a charitable organisation (Heathgrove Study Centre Building Fund) and a registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). However, there are still many expenses associated with running the Club activities, and these expenses are covered by the activity fees.
