Club78

Club78 is a fortnightly extra-curricular activity that fosters the human and personal development of girls in Years 7 & 8. More than an ordinary youth group, Heathgrove offers a holistic approach to the use of time outside of school.

2024 is an exciting year for Club78! Activities will focus on practical life skills, getting out into society and giving back in the form of volunteering. In the September holidays the girls will have the opportunity to go away for the weekend to an "Art of Living Seminar", which will focus on the building relationships through practical activities.

Activities for Term 1 and 2 here

Fortnightly activities, summer camps, peer mentoring.

Club78 is run by volunteers (university students and young professional women) who also serve as role models and mentors. Activities are held fortnightly on a Saturday afternoon (2-5 pm). A four-day summer camp is also offered to complement these activities.

In order to aid the personal development of the girls, Heathgrove's activities also include informal, individual mentoring from the club leader. Mentoring helps the girls to work on personal goals in a relaxed and safe environment.

Club staff members are also available to meet with parents regarding their daughter's participation and progress.

We work with parents in the job of forming and raising their girls especially in three areas:

  1. Human virtues

Helping girls to take studying seriously; to desire to do things well out of a sense of mission to serve and help others; to learn to use their freedom (use of time, maturity, etc) well; to be honest, sincere and upfront; to be cheerful and resilient and many more.

2. Relationships

In their relationship with others – by being a good friend, a daughter, a sister, etc.

3. Spiritual formation

In relationship with God- progressively teaching them to pray and have a personal relationship with God. For Catholics- to learn to value and love confession and spiritual direction.

Fees

At Heathgrove, we try hard to make our activities and camps affordable. Everything is run on a not-for-profit basis. As well as this, Heathgrove itself is a charitable organisation (Heathgrove Study Centre Building Fund) and a registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). However, there are still many expenses associated with running the Club activities, and these expenses are covered by the activity fees.
